5/28/2002 Patterson Dental Company Selects Itronix Corporation fex21 Handheld Computers for New Field Service Management System Itronix Corporation, the world's leading manufacturer of ruggedized, wireless-enabled notebook and handheld computers, announced that Patterson Dental Company will deploy 650 fex21™ handheld personal computers (H/PC's) as part of a strategy to supplement its industry-leading technical services to customers. Patterson Dental Company is a $1.2 billion, full-service, value-added distributor of dental and veterinary products throughout North America. Patterson Dental's mobile service technicians have set industry standards in customer care, and will leverage the Itronix fex21's leading technology for real-time service order and inventory management during service calls. "The Itronix solution was an obvious choice," said Lynn Askew, Vice President of Management Information Systems for Patterson Dental Company. "We needed robust capabilities to keep our service technicians connected to our enterprise regardless of their location. The fex21 handles real-world wear-and-tear without sacrificing performance or productivity." Askew noted that the fex21 is easy to use. "It has a large display and full keyboard that will enhance the productivity of our technicians," he said. Patterson's technicians will use the fex21 to track all tasks including dispatch, service order completion and inventory management. In conjunction with Nexterna's Clearview field service application, the fex21 enables data such as contract, inventory management, and billing information to be shared immediately with service technicians.
