3/5/2002 12th Annual Mobile Services Workforce Conference Highlights New Technologies TUCSON, Ariz. –Itronix Corporation, a world leader in the design and manufacture of rugged, enterprise wireless mobile computing solutions, today launched its 12th annual Mobile Services Workforces Conference (MSWC) in Tucson, Ariz. The conference focuses on the use of technology for outfitting and managing mobile workforces. Attendees include representatives from some of the biggest wireless network companies in the world—companies like AT&T Wireless, Sprint PCS, Motient and Cingular Wireless. Other attendees include companies that deploy mission-critical mobile workers like Sears, Transco, Honeywell and Telus Corporation, among others. Organizations with mobile workers often struggle with challenges like managing multiple wireless networks, demanding environmental conditions that can destroy costly computers and creating real-time inventory capabilities. “MSWC is a tremendous opportunity for leaders in the telecommunications, utility, commercial and government sectors to get together and discuss the best ways to create and manage efficient workforces,” said Tom Turner, Itronix’s President and CEO. “Wireless technology and rugged computing has come into its own, and the companies at this conference are very forward-thinking—they’re going to capitalize on the technology and provide value back to their stakeholders in the form of increased productivity and positive return on investment.” Itronix is the world’s number one supplier of fully rugged mobile computers—a $3 billion market that is expected to double by 2005, according to Venture Development Corporation, an industry analyst group. Itronix’s rugged computing devices are used in challenging environments such as in extreme heat and cold, in wet or dusty conditions and even around hazardous materials like explosive petrochemicals. “This is a very exciting time,” said Turner. “Companies are changing the way they manage their mobile workers. From wireless dispatch to real-time inventory enterprise access there is opportunity to become more efficient and productive. Implementing an Itronix solution now can increase productivity and improve a company’s bottom line.” In addition to collaborating about current and emerging technologies, attendees of the conference will also discuss the future of 3-G wireless computing and the efficient deployment of field workers across North America and Europe. Attendance at this year’s MSWC event has increased by 30% over last year’s conference.
