Itronix Corporation Announces New President & CEO

Tom Turner to take top position at worldwide rugged, wireless mobile computing solutions leader

SPOKANE, Wash. (January 29, 2002) - Itronix Corporation, a world leader in the design and manufacture of ruggedized, enterprise wireless mobile computing solutions, today named Tom Turner as its new President and CEO.

Turner will succeed retiring CEO and President Dave Dayton, who has led Itronix since 1998. Turner brings a broad background of high technology and general management experience to Itronix. Most recently he was the Senior Vice President of WhereNet Corporation, a leading supplier of real time location systems for managing mobile resources. During his 12 years with Wang Laboratories in the late 70's and 80's, he had several assignments including President & CEO of Wang Canada, and Director of sales and marketing operations for Wang in Australia. In the 90's Turner was Senior Vice President and headed of North American Field Operations for Symbol Technologies and then spent 5 years as President of Datamax Corporation.

"Itronix has earned an outstanding reputation for customer service and is a technology leader in an industry with exceptional market potential," said Turner. "With the burgeoning demand for rugged, wireless enabled computers, the company is perfectly poised to capitalize on its decades of experience in providing computers to mobile workers worldwide."

"I am extremely proud to turn over an exceptionally performing company to Tom," said Dayton. "He was clearly the best choice to lead Itronix towards continued growth in the telecommunications, utility and service industries, as well as emerging markets like public safety and government. I look forward to working with Tom during the transition period and introducing him to our organization."

Turner believes that providing value and superior client services to Itronix customers is what differentiates Itronix from its competitors. "Itronix is not just a computer hardware manufacturing company. We are a total solutions provider to organizations that realize the challenge of bringing automation to their mobile workforce is not just an idea, but an idea whose time has come," he said.

Turner's agenda is already in high gear as his first thirty days will include meetings with customers, employees in the US and Europe, business partners and suppliers. "We need to grow and enhance our leadership position," he said. "This means continually improving the performance of our rugged and ultra-rugged computers and offering customers innovative choices in computing platforms and services to meet the needs of our customers."

Turner also confirmed the company's continued presence in Spokane. "Spokane's quality of life combined with its educated and loyal workforce make doing business here an ideal choice," he said.

Itronix's corporate headquarters are located in Spokane, Wash. The company also has manufacturing, sales and distribution with its European operations, Itronix Ltd., located in Coventry, UK.

Dayton, addressing Itronix personnel at a company wide meeting announcing Turner's appointment said that his time at the helm was among the most gratifying of his career. "Thank you all very much, it has been a great ride. Itronix has experienced record sales year after year and many major companies throughout the world enjoy our products and services. I have you to thank, and my best wishes to you all," he said.
