With GoBook’s new option, Itronix now offers users a unique range of solutions, combined with superior wireless performance and durability, for wide area and local area mobile computing. GoBook’s WLAN capability is based on the award-winning Cisco Aironet 350 Series of Wi-Fi™ (IEEE 802.11b) compliant WLAN products. Cisco’s technology delivers 11 Mbps data transmission rate, up to 100 mW transmitter power, and IEEE 802.11b compliance for maximum interoperability with all Wi-Fi™ certified WLAN products. With WLAN access, Itronix GoBooks can now communicate wirelessly in peer-to-peer mode or with any Wi-Fi certified LAN from within, or in proximity to, customer buildings and properties. First True Solution for Portable Ubiquitous Wireless WAN Coverage Itronix has partnered with Wireless Matrix Corporation (www.intersatcorp.com) to support Wireless Matrix’ Mobile Base Station (MBS), a solution which enables ubiquitous wide-area wireless data coverage by blending satellite and terrestrial data networks for coverage throughout North America. By linking GoBooks to vehicle-mounted MBSs via WLAN communications, mobile workers can experience wide-area connectivity up to several hundred feet from their vehicle, even from deep within neighboring buildings.
